Everything about Bsix Sixth Form College totally explained

BSix Sixth Form College: Brooke House is a sixth form college located in Upper Clapton, London in the United Kingdom. It officially opened in September 2002, giving students in Hackney the opportunity to study at a college close to where they live. Brooke House has previously been the site of other educational institutions. Brooke House is a sixth form college providing academic A-level teaching, and educational and professional tutoring and advice, catering specifically for the needs of young people who wish to continue with their education after leaving school at sixteen. It also provides a range of programmes to cater for different interests, skills and long-term ambitions of young people. Students are encouraged to select a single A-level subject (consisting of AS and A2 year courses) and different vocational courses at advanced level 3. For students who may have left school with few GCSEs and need to make a fresh start the college offers a range of intermediate level programmes as well as the option to retake some GCSEs, with students in most cases then progressing to a level 3 course. Where it's appropriate the College encourages students to mix and match their types of course, and it students can study A-levels alongside units of a vocational programme, or take one or more AS-level subject alongside a fulltime vocational programme.
In addition to the main subject choices, students are encouraged to develop their skills in IT, numeracy and communications. The college also provides opportunities for students to develop their knowledge and skills outside the classroom, in sport, drama, music etc. and through involvement in community-based activities, work experience or visits linked to their chosen subjects.
The College works with local secondary schools providing teaching and support for students aged 14+.
The College is twinned with the Cayuga Community College State - University of New York.
